Body Mass Index (BMI)

what is BMI ? The number which will give idea about your body weight if it is under wt  normal over weight or obese. The ratio is called Body Mass Index=
 Weight in Kg /Height in Meter Square
BMI Normal 18to 24.9
BMI Over wt 25to 29.9
BMI 30 and above indicates Obese
under wt means BMI less than 18.5

Obesity is an establish independent risk factor for developing hypertension .
Data studied from729 cross sectional study participants analysed in rural area of Japan in 2016
Conclusion : BMI and elevation had significant association with hypertension.(1)

Participants were  included in study.
Over weight and obese adults report low levels of physical activity high TV viewing and poor sleep duration.(2)
