Carona-I PAD Culture

 Carona ---I --PAD Culture

Look at the hospital environment especially in ICU.

No patient while admiring is allowed with his relative even up to his bed

No body could see his bed number

The Laxman Rekha is the line outside the door gate door out side the ward

Though the I  -PAD culture is allowed

This reminds me historical story of Lord Rama

During child hood he wanted moon in his hand the nursing lady was clever she gave Rama a mirror and showed him moon.

Historic IPad

This is hospital I -Pad culture Once patient is admitted he is not allowed physically to see his relative friends good that Robo

Technology is not developed so the relatives do not have to move an inch in the process of admission to hospital

Every thing is virtual.

Though through I -PAD communication video is allowed it has restrictions  of timing.

The question in my mind comes if just patting the I Pad on back of patient can give human touch

Now let us think of past

In 1970s when I was a student In medical college .

As soon as patient is admitted his relatives used to accompany patient up to his bed sister used to guide relatives for 2 passes one for day and one for night time to remain with patient to care for patient if any medicine req they used to go bring if nurse permits relative used to help in feeding .

In ithe evening hospital used to be open for visitors from 4 Pm to 6 PM

Visitors used to take a permission from their offices to go little early to visit the patient.

Lastly hospital ring used to ring indicating

It is time to leave visitors used to feel sad.

While leaving but used to give assurance to patient that do not worry you will be alright soon

Night time relatives used to manage to stay

Present time of social distancing is painful without solution

Gone days when patient relatives used to lie on bed sheet chatting with fellows

In the lobby at night still i could hear sister saying is any body of bed number 10 please come

.
