Hypertension is
important factor for cardiovascular disease.
One in four men and one in five women have high raised blood pressure.
Lifestyle factor responsible for Hypertension
1) Smoking
2) Excess Salt
3) Drinking
4) Unhealthy sleep duration
Sleep duration shorter than the median of 7 to 8 hours is related to incidence of Hypertension
More common for people sleeping less than 8 hours at night.
Increase sleep time also was risk factor for hypertension.
Obstructive sleep apnea and hypertension commonly reported in about 50% patient with OSA
Short sleep duration was found to be a risk factors for hypertension in American population while
Association was not reported in Chinese population.
Long Sleep Duration and hypertension
Sleep duration more than or equal to 9 hours
Was risk factors of hypertension
Hypothesis that depriving sleep hours is stressful condition which has been provided to promote salt appetite and supress renal salt fluid excretion.
