Today the number of Corona positive cases

 55 lacks in India

 

D -- dimer is a by product of blood clotting 

And breakdown process that can be measured

With analysis of blood sample.

Normal  D --dimer less than 0.50 mg /lit

Normal in ng /deci lit  up to 500ng

 D -- dimer is commonly elevated

In patients with Covid 19 .

D--dimer  levels correlate with disease severity

And reliable prognostic  marker.

 Following is a report of D--dimer study

In Covid 19 with pnumonia and 

CAP (community acquired bacterial 

Pneumonia) patients

Age group 

Covid 19 patients with pnumonia   

Age  group 65 (54,72)

CAP                              Age.           64(60, 70)

                       D - dimer 

Covid 19 pts with pnumonia

n 57.                      0.8 (0.4,1.8) microgram/ml

CAP patieents

                          0.4.  (0.2,1.0).  Micro g/ml

                        

                 P less than 0.01

Variable   microgram /ml  0.0 ---0.5

Conclusion : on admission both in Covid 19

Patients with pneumonia and community acquired bacterial pneumonia patients their concentration

Of D dimer significantly increased. Compaired

with CAP  patients (  P less than 0.05)
