WBC white Blood Cells are also called Leucocyte .These cells are of five types Three types are having granules inside cytoplasm
1) Neutrophil
2),Eosinophil
3) , Basophil
Agranulocytes These WBC are devoid of granules. 1) Lymphocytes 2)
Monocyte
Although total number of WBC is much less compare to RBC .The WBC cells are like military so all WBC are not in circulation
Some are in bone marrow.and lymphoid organ.During emergency cells will rush in blood circulation.
The total number of WBC range 4000+11000
If the number of WBC greater than 11000
The term Leucocytosis .
Physiological causes :
1)Stress
2) After meals
3)pregnancy
4) menustration
5) Lactation
6)Excercise
Pathological causes:
1) Acute pyogenic infections
2) steroid
When WBC count lowers to less than
4000 the condition is called as Leucopenia.
Causes for Leucopenia :
1) Typhoid fever
2) starvation
3)Viral or protozoal infection
I) Granulocyte : granules are present
1) Nutrophil : Absolute count 2000-7000/cubicmm of blood
40,%to 75%of the total WBC
.Function ,: Phagocytosis means englufing pathogens(bacteria viruses)
Scientist Mechnikov year 1908 got Noble prize for Phagocytosis discovery.
Nutrophils are the first cells to migrate to the site of infection granules help in killing
Pathogens(bacteria viruses)
.
Lymphocytes increase in viral or chronic
Infection.
2) Monocyte are agranulocyte
Normal range 2-10% of the total WBC
Phagocytic in nature.
Fight against bacteria viruses and fungi.
Cells increase in chronic infection.
Monocytes once leave blood stream change into different form called macrophage after entering tissue. Thus macrophage are changed form Monocyte in tissues and called also as Big eaters. Macrophages in tissue become permanent residence in tissue.
Platelets : are also called Thrombocytes
are small blood cells shed off a larger cell called megakaryocytes.
Platelets help in clotting of blood.
They do not have nucleus.
Normal range 150000-400000 per microliter
WBC Report:
1) Total WBC normal 4000-11000
2)Lymphocyte %Range 20-45
3)Monocyte % 2-10%
4) Eosinophils %1-6
5)Basophil %0-1
Check your reports if the numbers are within the Reference range your report is normal
Yes this is so simple
But now with their names and little back ground you will get basic.knowledge.
Best luck for your report.

.
Nutrophil increase in fever ,acute inflammation .
2) Eosinophil: Granulated WBC
Motile phagocytic cells ,anti parasytic antiallergic .
3) Basophil : normal range 0-1%
Antiparasitic and anti allergic
Range 20-45 percent of the total WBC count
3) Basophil : normal range 0-1%
Antiparasitic and anti allergic
II) Agranulocytes:
1) Lymphocyte a type of agranulocyte
Lymphocyte are of two types B Lymphocyte give humoral immunity
And T lymphoocyte cell mediated immunity.
