         Turmeric        (Curcuma longa)

Curcuma longa  commonly known as  turmeric exampisies such herbal remedies 
With its extensive history of culinary and medical aplications across
 Asia for
 thousands of years . Traditionally utilised as dye.Flavouring and cultural rituals.

Clinical research has identified curcumin the active compound in turmeric as

 possessing significant therapeutic potential.

Curcuma longa  commonly known as turmeric belongs

to the Zingiberaceae

Family.


          The structure of curcumin supported by its synthesis was published as early as

1910 by  Mitobedza and Co workers .

       Diabetes  Mellitus  : is a chronic metabolic disorder

 characterized by impaired glucose metabolism,insulin 

Resistance ,and associated complications such as neuropathy
, cardiovascular and renal damage.

        Curcumin with its multifaceted bioactive

 properties has been extensively  investigated 

For its potential to manage diabetes and it's complications 
Through mechanisms including improved lipid metabolism 

Reduced inflammation and antioxidant effects and 
Prevention of cell death.


Clinical  Trials: Nano curcumin 80mg/day for 3months

In a type 2 Diabetes patients resulted in notable reductions
In Glycosylated hemoglobin HbA1c ,fasting blood glucose 
(FBG), triglycerides and BMI ,along with improvements 
Low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-L-C) levels.
Additionally 
Curcumin administration at  300mg/kg for 3months in diabetic 
Obese patients significantly reduced fasting blood sugar,Insulin 
Resistance, HbA1c , serum triglycerides.
