Food waste

 Food waste is not a good attitude 

Not for the cost alone but one should 

Think for millions of people  sleep without

Meal  globally.

Food waste has a potential for global warming

For understanding global warming one should know green house gases 

           Green House Gases

Green house gases are in earth's atmosphere

Such as Carbon dioxide nitrous oxide and methane without these the earth would not

Be warm. 

But if more and  more green house gases

Release from human activities it would

Result in too much of heat  .

We all know during 20th century earth temperature rise by 0.5degree Centigrade.

Further rise of even 2 degree C will 

Damage natural balance polar ice caps 

Will melt sea levels will rise and many areas

Will be flooded .

It will affect plants and animals.

The standard unit for impact of green 

House gases is CO2 equivalent CO2(e)

In   Ireland  consumers response towards

Food waste was studied. Two groups  

Among Irish residents caring and uncaring

Uncaring group there was more food

Wastage compare to caring group.

Total consumers studied 2062

62.56percent of the sample were uncaring

Group and 37.44percent from caring consumer

Group.

 Uncaring consumers average weekly food

Wastage  0.74kg.

 Accounting for 2.74kgof CO2

Equivalant in global warming potential

Where as caring consumers produce half the amount .

From more information that can inform

Strategic communication campaigns

To educate consumers about food waste 

And how they are contributing to global

Warming.
