Drum stick is called in Latin as Moringa olefera
It is an angiosperm plant various parts of this
Plant utilized as food and medicine.
Phytochemical analysis of leaves shows
Leaves of this plant are rich in potassium
Calcium phosphorus Vitamin A C and D
Kumari (2010)
Studied effect of Moringa olifera leaves
Powder for 40 days.in Type 2 Diabetes mellitus.
Patients were from 30 to 60 years of age and
They were not taking anti---hyperglycemic
Medication.
In the experimental group there were 46
subjects 32men and 14 women.
In the control group there were 9 subjects
4men and 5women.
Daily dose In experimental group was 8grams
Of Mornings oleifera leaf powder.
Final values did not differ much from base line
In the control group.
They were significantly reduced in the experimental group .
Fasting Plasma glucose ,-----28%
P less than 0.o1
PPPG ------26% P less than 0.05
PPPG. Means post prandial Plasma Glucose
